Flexischooling models
There are no fixed flexischooling models. Arrangements are designed to best meet the needs of each child and the contexts and resources of schools. The ratio of time and access to specific areas of curriculum is decided by agreement.
In times when school practice is rigidly proscribed, measured and policed the scope for latitude may well be more constrained. Families need to appreciate this and understand the school’s position. That said the starting position for flexischooling will be reviewed and can be deepened and developed and regularly as all parties grow in confidence and security.
The largest flexischool in England and Wales is Hollinsclough Primary. They have established their own model which works in their context. Details of this can be found on their Hollinsclough Flexischooling Page. This is only one example and models can vary and be truly personalised for each specific flexi-learner and setting.
