Excerpt from Aero’s newsletter 25.11.2011
Dear friends of AERO,
Last Sunday we did a very successful first Internet radio show based on our current school starter’s class. We’re doing another show on Sunday the 27th at 6PM again. Click here to listen to the last one and to listen to this one live on Sunday.
We would like to express our profound thanks to those of you who have supported AERO during the last year. It has been a great year but it has not been an easy year. We are excited for some new projects as well as a new website that will be launched shortly. Here is some of the other work we’ve done this year:
- We had a wonderful AERO conference at Portland, Oregon, with a record number of participants. We’ll be going back there again in August 2012.
- We have a record number of school starters registered in our online Start a School course.
- We helped organize a great International Democratic Education Conference (IDEC) in Devon, England last July.
- We are helping to organize the next IDEC to be held in March in Puerto Rico.
- We participated in consultations and events in many places, including Vinnitsa, Ukraine at the Stork School’s 20th anniversary celebration.
- We helped schools develop democratic process in Puerto Rico.
- We networked at the first Parents Decide gathering in Massachusetts.
- We participated in organizing meetings with Occupy Wall Street.
- We presented at the American Educational Research Association and Education Writers Conference in New Orleans.
- We presented at the Voyagers conference in New Jersey.
