The Informal Adult Learning White Paper – Learning Revolution or too little, too late?

Following the publication of the ‘Learning Revolution’ White Paper in March 2009 this event will inform delegates about the paper’s contents but in particular will get the debate started on whether we feel it represents real progress or too little, too late.
Join the debate. Delegates will hear from Dan Taubman, Senior National Education Official at UCU and Nick Moore, Vice Principal – Programme Development and Quality at City Lit.

In this policy briefing Chris Waterman, Director of Investors in Families will examine the implications for children, parents, early years providers and schools of reducing the school starting age. Mark Corney, Policy Adviser to the Campaign will set out latest thinking on raising the participation age under Labour. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss whether stretching formal education and training at both end of a young persons life is the right way to go. The event will be chaired by Tricia Hartley, Chief Executive of the Campaign.
