National Learning Forum: The Impact of Learning on Change and Change on Learning
London – 25 February 2008 9.30am – 4.30pm
The Campaign for Learning’s National Learning Forum will debate the issues with contributions from:
Leading Psychologist, Coach and Author Dr Michael Carroll, Facilitating Learning for Life and Work
This talk will equate learning with change and development and growth and trace the processes that support learning for modern life and work.
Nicky Pharoah, a Director of ‘The Learning Curve’ who has helped many top companies and their staff through change and leadership programme. Their interest is in aligning individual and organisational growth, focusing on the individual as the ultimate agent of change.
Jamie Murdoch, Children and Young People Development Manager from ‘Relate’ will be looking at change within the family unit, its effect on children and positive strategies moving forward.
This National Learning forum will seek to answer a number of questions:
– If change has impact on people’s ability to learn, can we use learning to lessen the effect?
– Why does change lead to positive creativity in some cases and not others?
– What steps can managers take to help their staff through the constant cycle of change?
– How can we help people through the survival phase and help them learn and develop
again?
– Can we teach children at and early stage how to cope with change?
– Will learning citizenship skills prepare children to deal with change?
