Leading educational publisher, PDC Education Ltd, has launched www.free-eds.co.uk, an on-line one-stop-shop listing free, inspirational teaching resources covering the complete national curriculum for primary and secondary school teachers.
Recent research has shown that at least 50% of all schools are now downloading ‘significant’ amounts of free lesson planning material from the web*, however, it is claimed teachers are wasting time scouring the internet for ‘free’ resources, and could be using their time more productively. The report points out that online resources are only ‘free’ if the time teachers spend finding and adapting them is not taken into account.
In response to these claims, PDC has ensured that Free-Eds is a comprehensive, easy to use website containing listings of hundreds of free, high quality, UK-specific, teaching resources covering Key Stages 1-4.
The website is divided into subject area sections covering the complete national curriculum, from Art & Design to Enterprise, Design & Technology to Drama, Maths to Music and Religious Education to Science.
Product listings range from resource packs, suggested learning sites to visit, CD-ROMs, videos, lesson plans, courses, leaflets and much more.
